International and German artists working in any field of the visual arts with a link to the city of Berlin by means of past/current projects. Quality of artistic portfolio is prerequisite to become a member of berlinerpool. Connections and previous collaborative experience with other members of our network help endorsing the application.

berlinerpool is a curated database and a network of artists, curators, art managers and art spaces in Berlin, whose activities are supported by a physical archive. This physical archive is the core of the organization, and has a mobile heart, being periodically hosted by different institutions both locally and internationally.

Since 2005, berlinerpool is committed to the preservation, accessibility, spreading and making of culture in Berlin. Membership to the network is open to art professionals with an active involvement in the cultural production of the city. berlinerpool acknowledges their participation by presenting and representing their input with a physical presence in the archive, taking the shape of a research center on berlin-based contemporary art.

Open to a general and specific professional public, the archive is located on Chausseestr.11, in the central district of “Berlin-Mitte”. berlinerpool headquarters host a unique collection of people and projects, serving as a base for interaction and collaboration between professionals and helping to structure in-deep knowledge of berlin-based art with an international accent. Besides being a house for research and curatorial consultancy for professionals, the space is the base for members meetings, public events with invited professionals and members of the network, exhibitions curated by invited outside professionals, book art fairs, book launches, workshops and teach-ins.
